Re: The Official Review Thread of 2017
Amidst the hate, I will be a lone voice of appreciation. I enjoyed the hell out of it. Note that word: enjoyed. The film had a LOT of problems, mostly in the script department. It was long series of poorly connected show-stopping musical numbers. I know some said the songs sounded too much alike, bu...

Re: Cannes 2018
It's been a very long time since I last had streaming issues with Netflix. They have gotten to the point that their systems test yours as your loading up the stream and then buffer enough of the content to make the playback smooth and they continue downloading in the background while your video play...

Re: Original Song Singers
I think I may have been able to isolate some of the other ones. Can someone please verify these? Silver Shadows and Golden Dreams (still nothing) Linda from The Story of G.I. Joe was either sung by Pat Friday (one source) or Shelley Mitchell (a different source) So Little Time was apparently sung by...

Original Song Singers
This might be a challenge, but I'm working on data to see just how many original song nominees were sung by the same person, both on the telecast and in the movies. So, I'm trying to get the song performers from the films themselves. I've gotten the large majority of them, but I'm missing a sizable ...

Re: Ceremony Help Again
Also, does anyone know of a good resource for when, where, and who hosted the separate sci-tech awards? I'm trying to be as thorough as possible on my awards coverage, but I wasn't able to find the info on Wikipedia.

Re: Ceremony Help Again
That makes me wonder where the special awards for Harry M. Warner, Spawn of the North, Oliver Marsh & Allen Davey, and J. Arthur Ball were presented.

Re: Ceremony Help Again
Do I have Best Picture in the wrong spot? Several years had Picture presented earlier in the evening than at the end. Is this right? And what does Inside Oscar show? And every time I go into my spreadsheet, I catch something that I skipped (even after highlighting them) At the 11th Oscars for 1938. ...

Re: Ceremony Help Again
Another thing:
for the 68th Oscars for 1995, I have the introduction of the original song nominee "You've Got a Friend in Me" between the presentation of the honorary award to John Lasseter and Animated Short Film, but somehow I don't have who introduced the performance. Nor does Wikipedia.

Ceremony Help Again
Ok. So, the Margaret Herrick library cut me off for help. I've managed to piece together a lot of stuff, but I have one last sticking point. The 18th Oscars for 1945, I have the ceremony order thus: Show Introduction Animated Short Film Live Action Short Film (One-Reel) Live Action Short Film (Two-R...

Re: 90th Oscars: Ceremony & Pre-Show Discussion
I'm sorry, Reza, but you're wrong as usual. Since you're not an American and don't live in America, you can't possibly see or understand the sea change that is happening. It takes ripples and I've seen it in the environment I'm in. There's some backlash, of course, but I've seen a genuine effort to...

Re: Oscar Predictions Contest
I ignored precedent in a few spots, partly out of caution of recent trends and partly because I didn't want to be wrong predicting on gut.
