I can see why people might hate this... But I loved it. It is mystifying to me that people are complaining about the accents, though. I mean, should they be speaking in French accented English just because they are playing French? That wouldn't make any sense, so why not just have them speak in the...

I love Kerr in The Sundowners, it's a fantastic, sexy, ahead-of-it's-time performance. Garson, who I just had the displeasure of revisiting two weeks or so ago, is a horrifying nightmare. That film has not aged well and her performance is beyond hokey. And yes, Simmons deserved a nomination for Gan...

A performance to consider this year, that is a bit difficult to track down, is: Julie Walters in Personal Services!

Wow...Damien and Magilla: I happen to think that despite the crap film, Fonda gives a solid performance. She, for once, disappears into her character. Usually I find her really mannered and technical, but she seems more natural here...

I've always thought Beverly D'Angelo's performance as Patsy Cline was the definitive one, rendering susequent films about her, including Jessica Lange's Sweet Dreams, virtually meaningless. Legend has it that D'Angelo's best scenes were either cut or not filmed at all at the insistance of Sissy Spa...
