I'm gonna get so much flack for this -- and I admit I know nothing about this show, its main characters or its actors, and please know that my post here has nothing to do with soap operas, or fans of soap operas, or gay men who watch soap operas to jack off to hot guys, or Penelope, or anyone else ...

Alexander Cockburn has a less rosy memory of Buckley. Thank goodness. I thought all the liberals had lost their minds. COUNTERPUNCH Weekend Edition March 1 / 2, 2008 The Race Card; Liberals Sniffle at Buckley's Passing By ALEXANDER COCKBURN When I first came to America in 1972 I was astonished to f...

Damien, Melissa Etheridge actually endorsed Obama. And is it still OK to count Cher as part of "the music world?"

Thanks Penelope, I'm waiting for Marco to cast the third and probably last vote for Hudson. I'm sorry OG, but I'm pretending my vote was cast for the truly worst winner.

The question is, which time? Boys Don't Cry or Million Dollar baby? Embarrassment of riches for you there, Pen. Though how anyone could choose Swank over Berry and Theron is beyond me.

Ah, I see you chose Baby. At least you left the stronger performance untouched.

Oh Penelope lol. I should have known, given how much you hate the Agent of Evil. But really, worse than Ron Howard? Really??

His last four films have all be sizable hits. Anger Management, Something's Gotta Give, The Departed and The Bucket List. Obviously people still like him. (though he didn't really sell Departed, but still) Anger Management = Adam Sandler (see: juvenile young male audience who boost the box office t...

Another embarrassment of riches but the juvenile and ugly looking Shrek beats out the hideously conservative propaganda of The Incredibles.

Argh! I cast my vote for Angelina Jolie and then remembered Jennifer Hudson was in this decade (I guess I completely blocked out her win). I'm sure Oscar Guy won't change it because he loves her and hates me for ragging on her (I'm not even sure if you CAN change the vote, can you?) but please let ...

This one was touch, there's not really a stinker in the bunch (what a difference from the distaff side!) but the least impressive/deserving are Clooney, Arkin and Caine. The latter two are better actors overall -- and Clooney really wasn't deserving at all -- but neither Clooney nor Arkin won over ...

I almost voted for Freeman out of career achievement (and a beautiful, subtle performance) but Chris Cooper has perfectly defined character actor for years -- he's great in everything he does (in fact, HIS was the truly great performance in "Capote") and downright brilliant in "Adaptation." I'm sti...

I agree Okri. In fact after seeing Crash and In the Valley of Elah, you really appreciate how much Eastwood restrains the awful excesses of Haggis' screenplay.

Scorsese for career achievement and a wonderful film. And again, only ONE VOTE for him (my own??)?! You people really suck :p I expect the gay vote to win it for Ang Lee here. Only Howard and Sam Mendes have no business being on this list. But wow, what a better overall line-up than Best Picture --...

I bet Crash will win here but it's not nearly as awful as the two back-to-back Russell Crowe films. I'm glad Mind has the most votes thus far, but I have to go with the completely artless Gladiator (Connie Nielsen is no Jennifer Connelly, you know?). I also hated Chicago and A Beautiful Mind, but t...

Thank goodness for No Country or I'd never be able to decide between The Departed and Million Dollar Baby. The Coens manage to surpass Scorsese and Eastwood here. Shakespeare is lovely and Rings is OK. The rest are shit.
