The Original BJ wrote:. And the plot is a bit undercooked -- did ANYONE get much kick out of the reveal of Screenslaver's identity?

I predicted who it was almost right away. What I did find amusing about it is....SPOILER....this is the second movie Catherine Keener played a villain that uses hypnosis.

R.I.P Anthony Bourdain

This is sad. I was a fan.

Story.

It was suicide. Tragic. But I have to say it's a very Anthony Bourdain way to go. It wasn't the drugs, alcohol, cigarettes or the weird high-fat/high calorie foods.

Making Fun: The Story of Funko (David Romero) **1/2 - I caught this on Netflix. It's a documentary about Funko, the toy company that specializes in bobble-heads, Pez dispensers, etc. who made those cute Funko Pop pop culture dolls. I will say that this is about 45 minutes of genuinely interesting m...

Re: The Official Review Thread of 2018

Can animated films be nominated for production design? Isn't that part of the animation? Yes. Animated films are eligible for production design (but none have been nominated before). It's part of the animation but a production designer still has to design it. However, in the case of stop-motion ani...

Documentary Feature Watch

I did it in foreign language films so why not Documentary Feature also? This is where we review and discuss possible Documentary Feature contenders. I haven't seen it but the Fred Rogers documentary Won't You Be My Neighbor seems to be getting lots of raves from all over. Could it be the front-runne...

I actually have seen and loved the first season of the show (The second season STILL hasn't dropped in my local Netflix, for some reason) so I hope so! Ted Danson and Kristen Bell would be very deserving nominees based on what I've seen.

Au contraire. I think they might give them nominations for putting up with that bullshit. (I've seen a bunch of episodes, they're EASILY the best performers).

Foreign Language Film Watch

I thought we could dedicate this thread in watching out and reviewing potential Foreign Language Film entries and contenders especially since we have members from all over the world. It could give us an insight on such things. I'll start us off: Citizen Jake (Mike de Leon) ***1/2 - Mike de Leon is o...
