Re: Campaign 2020

Even after four-score-and-seven years the only thing the Biden campaign has to fear is fear itself. Joe Biden's climate plan appears to directly copy multiple lines from other organizations — but his campaign says it was a mistake: https://www.businessinsider.com/joe-biden-climate-change-plan-copies...

Re: New Developments III

I wonder if anyone here with banking experience has any thoughts on an idea of mine. That is, and it would have to be phased into over time, to replace the banking system with deficit spending from the Federal Government. Instead of the Federal Reserve issuing currency and lending it to banks that t...

Re: R.I.P. Doris Day

She did do a successful TV show in the early 70s, but, back then, TV series were what film stars did when their movie careers died. (Which by itself underlines how long ago this was.) Although, often the number of people who saw their TV shows greatly exceeded the number of people who saw their mov...

Re: Campaign 2020

I would love to think that we are at a point where a progressive could win the Presidency, but I don't think we're there yet, even as an alternative to Trump. The big question is what happens with the economy. It appears that we might be moving into a recession. If we are, then how much of a downtu...

Re: 2018 Oscar Shouldabeens

So here's my take on what, in my opinion, was a fantastic year for films. How fantastic? I might take my entire top ten from 2018 over anything from 2017. (Maybe not...I'd have to do some rewatching to know for sure, but it's close.) Best Film: 1- First Man But First Man 's screenplay doesn't even ...

Re: Best Cinematography 1959

The Nun's Story covers a lot of territory and would have been a fine winner if it were not up against Ben-Hur . Robert Surtees' Oscar was the only one of that fim's eleven wins that I wouldn't take away. You don't think the chariot race warranted its award for Film Editing? Magilla's reply: I thoug...

Re: Felicity Huffman Criminally Charged

This reminds me of what might be a very controversial view of mine. I think local control of education is a mistake and the responsibility of the public-school system should be moved from state and local government to the Federal Government.

That reminds me of this funny segment from the old TV series Get Smart:

Ironically, the sound of the clip is somewhat poor.

So, in this instance, sound mixing would involve the volume, pitch, and timbre of Mercury's voice; but, sound editing would involve how Mercury's voice matches Malek's lips?
