Re: 2017 Oscar Nominations

So, The Shape Of Water is the only film to have nominations for directing, writing, and editing, making it the heavy favorite to win Best Picture.

New Season For Cosmos In 2019

Cosmos to Return for Second Season on National Geographic and Fox: http://variety.com/2018/tv/news/cosmos-season-2-national-geographic-1202663444/ I loved both the Carl Sagan and first Neil deGrasse Tyson shows, so I am really looking forward to this one. Although, I do wish this trailer contained ...

Re: SAG Nominations and Predictions

Oh, sure: it's always possible we have an upset at the Oscars, somewhere. But that's not the same as having a race. Every single person in your Oscar pool is going to put down these same four names, because they'd be idiots not to. If anyone loses, everyone loses (as we all did in best picture last...

Re: The Post reviews

Also, as a longtime D.C. resident, I have to say that the film has several moments that were just completely wrong. Like, that’s not even what the Supreme Court looks like inside, folks. This has to be a result of laziness and/or a very rushed production. I would expect if the production design peo...

Re: Pre-Christmas Look at the Top Races

One thing I have thought about in relation to Sally Hawkins chances of winning Best Actress is, as far as I know, everyone nominated for Best Actress for playing a mute character, Jane Wyman, Marlee Matlin, and Holly Hunter, has won. Does anyone know if there were other Best Actress nominations for ...

Re: Would There Have Been?

Frances Marion was a famous early female screenwriter, winning Oscars in the 1930s for The Big House and The Champ, who was allowed on set, even occasionally directing, and did not need to use a male pseudonym.

Re: PGA Nominations

One thing I've been wondering about lately -- what nominations is Wonder Woman going to get? It seems like the kind of cultural event/well-liked summer hit that shows up SOMEWHERE, but its tech credentials aren't terribly strong -- it's already been bounced from Makeup/Visual Effects. The Sound cat...

Who are all now 80, except for Redford who is 81.
