Re: Everything Is Great and Amazing

Whenever I think things have gotten so low, they can't go any lower, Orange Hitler goes one lower. He just announced that the Attorney General will be holding a press conference tomorrow morning as he releases the Mueller Report, after which he may hold one of his own. ...the antiquated electoral m...

Bill Weld officially announces he is challenging Trump for GOP nomination in 2020 https://www.cnn.com/2019/04/15/politics/bill-weld-2020-trump/index.html That's a key. We'll see how many Bill Weld Republicans there actually are out there. I voted for the Gary Johnson/Bill Weld ticket in 2016, mostl...

Re: Everything Is Great and Amazing

It's sad to say, but only Joe Biden has the wherewithal and the gravitas to not only win but get the support of both parties to get things done. He certainly has less baggage than Hillary Clinton did. However, you know the issues of plagiarism and being "touchy-feely" would be thrown at h...

If we expand that from acting, remember she was also married to Oscar-winner Andre Previn.

Another good suggestion! Let's hope they all live to be a hundred so they have enough time to reward all of them :)

Re: Golden Globe reactions

Dick Van Dyke should be the recipient next year before its too late. I was thinking Betty White, but Van Dyke would be a wonderful choice too. Some others who could well win this new award are: William Shatner And I noticed that there are still quite a few actors out there who could get the DeMille...

Yeah, I believe we're approaching DEFCON 1. And the final result is going to be a lot closer to what the so-called alarmists were predicting than what the "realists" have been maintaining. Fasten your seat belts. When even Fox News is willing to discuss President Trump as someone who &quo...

Could Linda Cardellini become this year's Jacki Weaver and just roll up on Green Book's coattails? That's...actually a great call. She was mentioned/thanked/praised a few times in those Green Book acceptance speeches, putting her name in voters' minds at just the right time. I can see this happenin...

Re: 2018 AARP Movies for Grownups Awards

How many people have actually heard of "All is True"? I think it was a horrible idea to release this movie so limited that I don't even think I saw one ad for it. Where did it play? It's wider releasing sometime this year... so I'm not gonna even count it as a 2018 movie.

I had Blunt pegged until I actually saw Mary Poppins Returns and poor Emily Blunt gets lost in the ensemble. There are long stretches of the movie where she's either not in the scene or off to the side, not talking. It's insane and baffling, to put it mildly. I think Emily Blunt getting a lead actr...

Re: DGA Nominations

I had a feeling I should've changed my prediction to include Adam McKay. He's now up for a TV DGA award and Feature Film DGA award at the same time. Can't say whether he deserves his spot, though, as I haven't seen "Vice" yet.

Re: DGA Predictions

Looking over the TV nominees, I suddenly feel like I should be predicting Adam McKay for "Vice." But I'll leave my predictions as is. :)
