Members have apparently been threatened with disciplinary action if they leak any voting results beyond winners, so maybe we won't get much background info this year. (And may I say I think that's an unfathomably childish stance for them to be taking?)

Someone should leak the runner-up results to Lou Lumineck. He releases them, no voting member gets in trouble, problem solved.

An elegant solution!

I thought you meant he's won nothing from NYFCC. Copy that.

And Best Actor, Timothy Spall for Mr. Turner.

Animated feature -- not screenplay, for which he's been a many-times bridesmaid.

For those looking for a surprise: cinematography to Darius Khondji for The Immigrant.

Is it just me or is this moving way too fast? And too predictably?

It definitely seems faster than usual, suggesting more consensus than last year (possibly because there were so many solid candidates last year, where this year the fields are thinner).

As for predictable: I'd say they are, because everything so far has been either my pick or my first runner-up. But over at Awards Daily -- where they've been downplaying Grand Budapest all year -- they're gobsmacked by Anderson's win.

Lou Lumenick and Armond White are prohibited from voting this year. White for his outburst at their awards dinner and Lumenick for leaking results last year.

Simmons was picked in under 10 minutes...I have a feel he may steamroll this season

And another well-expected choice: J.K. Simmons is best supporting actor.
